Forensic officers continue investigation after woman’s body found in Kirkcaldy flat

Forensic officers were continuing their investigations today following the discovery of a woman’s body in a Kirkcaldy flat.

A police van was stationed outside of the block at Deas Wharf, in the town’s harbour area, after a 45-year-old was found dead at around 4.20am on Sunday.

She has been named locally as Jennifer Edwards, though police are yet to confirm this.

Forensic teams were witnessed going through bins outside of the end block, while two uniformed officers maintained a cordon around the property.

Police have confirmed that the death is being treated as “unexplained”, while a post-mortem examination is likely to be conducted today.
