A man has appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court charged with abduction, assault with intent to rape and attempting to pervert the course of justice. Simon Johnston was charged following an alleged incident in the Templehall area of the town on Sunday. The 38-year-old, whose address was given only as Kirkcaldy, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody. He was committed for further examination and is expected to appear in court again within eight days.
