Nicola Sturgeon blames Westminster for energy job losses in Fife

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has blamed Westminster for deterring investment in offshore wind after Samsung Heavy Industries announced it is withdrawing from Fife.
The company was responsible for building the world’s largest turbine at Methil Energy Park and it was hoped the company would eventually create 500 manufacturing jobs in Fife.
Speaking exclusively to The Courier Ms Sturgeon said she was “disappointed” atSamsung’s decisionbut said Scotland still has a bright future in renewable energy.
The First Minister went on: “Our frustration is with the UK Government and its support, or lack of support, for offshore wind.
“I don’t think that helped with investor confidence.”
