Around 20 firefighters have tackled a fire which caused extensive damage to Bowhill Swimming Pool in Cardenden.
Four crews, two from Kirkcaldy and two from Lochgelly, were called to the scene in Station Road after the fire was reported at 7.20pm, with firemen using breathing apparatus sets to enter the heavily smoke-logged building.
It is understood the blaze broke out in a first floor sauna, although a full investigation is expected to be carried out into its cause.
No-one was hurt, but a spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the fire had caused “considerable” damage to the affected part of the building.
A risk assessment is likely to be carried out over the weekend and it is not known when the building will be able to reopen.
