A Dunfermline teenager pulled out a large kitchen knife and assaulted a male friend of his former partner, after going to her home in the early hours of the morning.
Mark Reid, 19, of Whitelaw Road, admitted that on July 5 2014 at a house in Leishman Drive, Dunfermline, he assaulted Connor Jack by repeatedly punching him on the face and striking him on the body with a knife, to his injury.
He also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, threatening violence and brandishing a knife.
He further admitted resisting police officers, refusing to be handcuffed, struggling violently, attempting to fight and repeatedly spitting at the charge bowl at Dunfermline police station.
At Dunfermline Sheriff Court, depute fiscal Sarah Lumsden said the initial offence occurred at the home of Reid’s former partner.
Mr Jack escaped with a minor injury. The partner and a friend ran from the house to a neighbour for help and the police were called.
Reid is already serving a sentence at Polmont young offenders institution and Sheriff Charles Macnair imposed a further 260 days in custody, to be served consecutively.
