Police follow trail of blood to solve Auchtermuchty mystery

A trail of blood sparked fears a serious crime had been committed in Auchtermuchty this morning.
A section of the High Street and Burnside was sealed off with police tape for several hours after a member of the public became concerned and reported the matter to the police at 7.50am.
Police followed the trail of blood to a local address and discovered a 52 year-old man there conscious and with a head injury.
The man was treated by the ambulance service at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Fife were called to Burnside, Auchtermuchty, around 7.50am this morning following a report of concern for a person.
“A 52-year-old man was treated by the Scottish Ambulance Service for a non-life threatening head injury, and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this incident.”
