Teenage girl charged after Cowdenbeath assault caught on video

Police say a 15-year-old girl has been charged in connection with an assault in the Cowdenbeath area.

The incident was reported to police on Sunday after video footage was seen thousands of times online.

Footage circulated on Facebook showed the victim being assaulted by another girl in the middle of a road while being egged on by a group of teenagers and while being filmed on a mobile phone.

The victim is then dragged around the corner by her hair before having her head hit repeatedly off the road.

Officer say a report will be submitted to the children’s reporter.
