The Scottish SPCA has appealed for information after a dead dog was found in the grounds of a Kirkcaldy school.
The decomposed body of the female German shepherd was discovered in undergrowth at St. Andrews Roman Catholic High School, concealed under bracken.
The Scottish SPCA said the dog’s body was “quite decomposed” and is estimated to have been dead for “a matter of days”.
A spokesperson posted: “We know the dog was around 14 years old as her date of birth was registered on her microchip. Unfortunately we have been unable to trace her owners via the chip and we are appealing to anyone with information to contact us.
“Anyone with information is being urged to contact our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.”
