The incident, which occurred shortly after 1pm near Main Street, caused long delays on the single carriageway route the major road connecting the East Neuk with central Fife.
The fire service dispatched crews to the scene, and they assisted the occupants from both vehicles. The door of the car involved, a black Volkswagen Polo, had to be removed with specialist equipment.
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that it was also alerted to the accident and two ambulances and a patient transport vehicle were sent to the scene.
Three people received treatment at the roadside for minor injuries before being transported to the Victoria Hospital as a precaution.
