A Fife man has been cleared of being fixated on his nurse.
George Ward, 39, who has learning difficulties, was found not guilty of a string of offences after a trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He denied that between May 1 and June 29 at Linburn Health Centre, Linburn Road, he engaged in a course of conduct that caused fear and alarm to Laura Harmes by repeatedly uttering inappropriate remarks, repeatedly alluding to knowing details about her friends and family, repeatedly giving her letters and photographs, repeatedly referring to viewing her social media profile, repeatedly standing outside the health centre, staring at her and sending her social media messages.
He also denied that on various occasions between July 24 and September 24 at the health centre and the A92 between Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy, he engaged in a course of conduct which caused Mrs Harmes fear and alarm by driving past and parking in the vicinity of the health centre, watching female members of staff and following her when she was driving.
Treatment room nurse Laura Harmes had told the court she gave Ward a weekly injection and noticed that over time his manner become “more flirty”.
She said she had received a “fright” when she went out to her car one day and Ward shouted at her.
He was standing at a bus stop near the clinic around three hours after his appointment and was still there when she left an hour later.
Ward, of Henryson Road, Dunfermline, was found not guilty after Sheriff Craig McSherry upheld a defence motion that there was no case to answer.
