Battering ram donated by Russell Crowe leaves Fife

A battering ram donated to a Scots charity by the Hollywood star Russell Crowe is starting a new life at a medieval fort.
“Rosie”, as the prop was nicknamed, was taken from Kincardine to the Duncarron Fort in the Carron Valley, where the Clanranald Trust is currently building the educational site.
Malin Heen-Allan from the Clanranald Trust said: “We did get some funny looks as we were driving along but the whole thing went very well.
“We started loading her at about 9.30 in the morning and were all done by 3pm, which was pretty good. Rosie is now at her resting place.”
The battering ram, from the film Robin Hood in which Crowe starred, was transported by hauliers across the Clackmannan Bridge en route to her new home, two years after the Oscar-winning star gifted the prop to the trust.
Its members had appeared in the 2010 production, lending their expertise as extras in battle sequences. While donating Rosie, the New Zealander visited the Duncarron Fort two years ago to witness the work being done by the trust.
Rosie will be on display at a mock siege taking place at the fort this weekend.
