An accident in Kirkcaldy town centre caused traffic chaos on Saturday.
The crash involving four cars resulted in the closure of part of Links Street and diversions being put in place.
The Esplanade is also currently closed for the town’s annual Links Market and traffic normally using that route had been diverted via Links Street.
Witnesses described the scene following that 11.30am accident near the junction with Pratt Street as “pandemonium” as drivers struggled to find an alternative route.
Links Street was partially closed for more than three hours as police investigated the cause of the crash.
Officers said that as far as they knew there had been no serious injuries but on person did have to be cut from their car by firefighters.
Four police cars and an ambulance were also called to the scene.
Buses were diverted via Methven Road and through a series of narrow residential streets before joining Pratt Street.
