Tay Bridgehead councillor Tim Brett has worries about the possible impact of three new “candidate sites” for housing development in Wormit.
Fife Council planning department is looking at possible development sites on land at the back of Crosshill Terrace, at Kilmany Road and on the west of Kilmany Road.
Mr Brett has written to residents in those parts of Wormit which would be most directly affected and has encouraged them to take part in the consultation.
“If all of these sites were included the village of Wormit would double in size,” he said.
“The infrastructure of the village the school, shops and roads would not be able to cope with such an expansion.
“Residents are also asking me why there is a need for even more housing sites to be identified when there are already a number of sites in the existing local plan in Wormit which have not been developed.
“People would like to see these sites developed first before others are considered.”
The consultation, which can be found at www.fifedirect.org.uk/fifeplan, ends on February 5.
