A 15-year-old boy from Hamilton has been charged by Police Scotland for sectarian chanting during Raith Rovers’ match against Rangers in Kirkcaldy last month.
Police Scotland held a post-match enquiry following offensive singing during the match and charged the teenager under the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act on Thursday.
An 18-year-old man was arrested during the match and charged under the same legislation.
Following post-match enquiries, supported by both clubs, a further three men have also been arrested and charged in relation to offensive singing.
Two men, aged 17 and 20, from Glasgow and another, aged 36, from Falkirk, are all due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on March 24.
Inspector Alan Seath said: “This behaviour by a misguided minority is detrimental to the entire football community and will not be tolerated.
“Police Scotland takes all reports of offensive behaviour and communications very seriously and will to pursue all lines of enquiry to ensure that offenders are brought before the courts.”
