Three taken to hospital after cars overturn on M90

Two cars overturned on the M90 on Saturday afternoon after being involved in an accident on the southbound carriageway near Dunfermline.
The accident happened around 3.10pm and resulted in three people being taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy with what the Ambulance Service described as “fairly minor injuries”.
Police, fire and ambulance personnel were called to the scene.
However, firefighters from Dunfermline were stood down after they received the message that all persons had been released from the vehicles prior to their arrival.
A Police Scotland spokesman said both vehicles were on their roofs. However, it appeared the occupants had a relatively lucky escape with no serious injuries reported.
The southbound inside lane of the M90 was still closed at 4pm but the road was still passable with care.
Congestion was likely to continue until the damaged vehicles were cleared.
