Police in Glenrothes will speak to clubbers at Styx nightclub on Friday and Saturday night as the search continues for missing man Allan Bryant.
Revellers visiting the nightclub in the Caskieberran area of the town will be spoken to in the hope it might jog the memory of anyone who saw Mr Bryant before he went missing in the early hours of last Sunday.
Police have also issued a poster (PDF link) showing a picture of Mr Bryant and the clothes he was wearing when he went missing from Glenrothes last Sunday morning.
A mobile police station is to be set up outside Styx on Friday and Saturday between 10pm and 2am, where he was last seen.
Sergeant Gill McEwan told The Courier that officers had been out in Glenrothes on Friday putting up as many missing person posters as they could.
They had targeted the town centre, the shopping centre in Macedonia and were also putting posters through doors where there had been no answer during door-to-door inquiries.
The Police Scotland helicopter was deployed on Thursday and sniffer dog teams had also been used.
Inspector David Latto, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are getting increasingly worried for Allan’s wellbeing and I hope the poster will jog the memory of anyone who has seen him.
“Our Community Access Vehicle will be outside Styx for the next two nights and anyone who was there last weekend and has any information about where Allan might be is encouraged to speak to officers.
“We have carried out extensive searches for him over the last few days, including using specialist resources such as the Police Scotland helicopter, but have drawn a blank so far.
“I am appealing for anyone who can help us find Allan to call Police Scotland on 101 or send the information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Mr Bryant’s family have already made emotional appeals for anyone who knows of his whereabouts to get in touch.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
