A poster of missing Glenrothes man Allan Bryant will be beamed to around 60,000 football fans at today’s Celtic v Hibs match.
The club is to show the poster on giant screens at half-time at Celtic Park in Glasgow, six weeks after the Celtic fan went missing.
Allan, 24, was last seen outside Styx nightclub in the town at around 3am on Sunday November 3.
Police have previously stated there is no evidence to suggest there has been foul play.
Chief Inspector Derek McEwan, who is in charge of the missing person inquiry, said: “Despite extensive searches in and around Glenrothes over the last six weeks, there is still no trace of Allan.
“He and his family are Celtic supporters and we hope that someone in the crowd will recognise him and give us the clue we need to trace Allan.
“Anyone who has any information which can help us reunite Allan with his family is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
A fundraising event has been held in the town’s CISWO social club, organised by committee members.
The Bryant family have also organised a craft fair to be held in St Ninian’s Church on Saturday December 21 and there will be a charity football match in Kinglassie on January 4 between Tam’s Bar of Buckhaven and Kinglassie.
Allan’s father Allan sr said: “All proceeds go towards flyers and posters to keep public awareness going in our search to find Allan.
“There are good people in Glenrothes. Allan was well liked and it’s been amazing the support we’ve had.
“The family couldn’t have asked for more than what people have done. There are posters everywhere in Fife and people have been doing it off their own backs.
“It’s the not knowing what’s happened to him, that’s the biggest factor. After a night out he always phoned home or sent a text on Sunday or Monday.”
