Victoria Hospital to build almost 200 more parking spaces

Plans have been unveiled that will see almost 200 extra parking spaces constructed at Fife’s busiest hospital.
NHS Fife has confirmed additional capacity is to be constructed at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy to help cope with demand from visitors.
Work on these spaces will start in the spring and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
It is hoped that it will relieve some of the pressure on residential areas, where many staff and hospital visitors have to park their vehicles due to the insufficient number of spaces.
Jim Leiper, director of estates, facilities and capital services at the local health authority, said: “NHS Fife has a continuing programme to increase the parking provision in line with the parking proposals at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
“Work will begin in the coming months to provide parking to the west of the hospital campus.
“The proposed layout would result in a total of 194 additional spaces, including 17 disabled spaces, located nearest to the main hospital buildings.”
