Neighbours brandish weapons on Dunfermline street in row over noise
ByThe Courier Reporter
Neighbours on a Dunfermline street brandished weapons at each other in an early-morning row over noise.
At Dunfermline Sheriff Court Shona Stewart, 37, of Skye Road, admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, uttering threats and brandishing a baseball bat on her street on July 15.
Depute fiscal Louise Ward said there was a dispute over noise between Stewart and a neighbour with an adjacent garden.
The neighbour had been trying to get to sleep, as had his six-year-old daughter.
He was unhappy about noise coming from Stewart’s house.
Following a fracas Stewart went into the house and came back with the baseball bat, which she brandished at her neighbour.
The neighbour then threatened Stewart and her brother with a knife.
Stewart called the police but she was charged for her part in the disturbance.
Sheriff Craig McSherry deferred sentence until March.
