The station was closed for a time following the accident.
The bus was taped off and was being examined by officers. Buses were being diverted to the car park area at nearby Petheram Bridge.
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach said: “One of our vehicles, which was not in service at the time, was involved in an incident at St Andrews bus station today in which a pedestrian was injured.
“Our immediate thoughts are for the welfare of the person involved who we understand has been taken to hospital.”
