Police in Fife have arrested and charged a man following a report of a disturbance at a badger sett in Cupar.
Lindsay Kerr, Police Scotland wildlife and environmental coordinator, said: “We received the report in February after a member of the public found a large active badger sett in a small woodland area of Cupar with a number of its entrances obstructed.
“I hope this arrest will highlight that we will always carry out robust investigations into all allegations of wildlife crime.”
The 33-year-old has been charged with offences under the Protection of Badgers Act 1982, while a report has been submitted to the Wildlife and Environmental department of the Crown Prosecution Service.
