Storm Henry: Roofing damage closes street in centre of Dunfermline
ByLeeza Clark
A Dunfermline town centre street has been closed because of damage caused by Storm Henry.
Pilmuir Street is likely to remain closed for the remainder of today after large pieces of felt were blown off the roof of a derelict factory.
The felt from the former Duracord plant has scattered along the road, leading to its closure to the Campbell Street junction.
Fife Council officer Scott Young said: “We have been in touch with the owner of the building who has arranged for a roofing contractor to inspect the building and carry out remedial repairs.
“However, this is obviously weather dependent and with high winds forecast to continue for the rest of the day, we cannot guarantee when this will take place.”
