Picture today at Leuchars where police were questioning motorists one week after an alleged abduction attempt in the Fife village. Police are searching for two men who robbed a Lochgelly house at gunpoint on Monday. The pair entered a flat in Melville Street at 2pm and brandished what appeared to be a handgun at the two male occupants. The intruders, who spoke with a local accent, took a PlayStation 3 games console, games and a number of other items. No shots were fired during the incident. Detective Inspector Des Fitzgerald of Fife CID said police should be contacted if anyone is seen selling a console of that type. He said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area, particularly anyone who fits these descriptions.” The first man is described as white, around 5 feet 9 inches tall, of slim build and aged in his 30s. He had short, black hair and wore a black hooded top, blue jeans and a dark woollen hat. The second suspect is also white, around 5 feet 6 inches tall, of medium build and aged in his mid-20s. He wore a light hooded top and orange scarf. Community Inspector Ian Stephen said “high-visibility patrols” would remain in the Melville Street area.
