“He had been a keen cycle racer since the age of 12 and was a long-standing member of the Fife Century Road Club. His partner Sue, parents Margaret and Archie, sister Mhairi and her family are deeply devastated by their loss.
“Ali followed his father Archie into the sport of cycling and a proud lifelong member of the Fife Century Road Club. “He was very passionate about the sport both as a competitor and as an official at events.
“The interest shown by his young nephew Gavin in cycle racing in recent years provided him with an added focus and enjoyment. They trained regularly and would often be seen together warming up at time trial events.
“The family is deeply touched by the messages of condolence received by the cycling community throughout Scotland”
