High-value 4×4’s and farm machinery have been stolen as part of a rural crime spree in North East Fife.
Several incidents have been reported across the area in the past month, with outbuildings also targeted during the raids.
To date, three off-roaders have been stolen from farms, with a motocross bike and tools also snatched in the raids.
Warning rural residents to take extra security precautions, community sergeant Ewan Pearce from Cupar Police Station said: “We continue to investigate all of these incidents and anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in the areas where they occurred, or who has information relevant to our inquiries, is asked to come forward.
“All residents within North East Fife should remain vigilant, particularly over the festive period, and report any suspicious activity to police immediately.
“To ensure you or your property is not an easy target for criminals make sure your home is always appropriately secured with windows and doors kept locked.
“Remember that sheds and garages are extensions of your home and should also be given consideration as to their security. “
Last Friday saw a red Isuzu Trooper taken from Lappie Farm by Gateside before a black Mitsubishi L200 was stolen from the Howe Equestrian Centre in Ladybank.
That came after a green Land Rover Discovery was stolen from Ballantager Farm near Letham on November 24.
Local officers in Freuchie have also been investigating a number of break-ins to outbuildings in the region.
Last week a shed in Church Street was entered and a Kawasaki motocross bike was stolen along with two pairs of boots and a bike stand.
A separate incident was then was reported on December 14 after a toolbox and various tools were stolen from a garage in Princess Crescent.
Another garage was also broken into, though nothing was taken on this occasion.
Elsewhere in the region, power tools were then reported stolen in Cupar after a Ford Transit van, which was parked in Kinloss Park, was entered overnight last Friday.
In addition, two Ivor Williams trailers were stolen from the Prestonhall Industrial Estate in Cupar and at Freuchie Mill on either Sunday or Monday.
Sergeant Pearce added: “Car and van owners should ensure they lock their vehicle, remove, or store out of sight, all items of value and take keys out of the ignition barrel when leaving them unattended.
