Police targeted people involved in violent crime across west Fife.
The day of action saw additional officers focus their efforts on arresting suspects sought in connection with violent assaults and in targeting those wanted on violence-related arrest warrants.
Police Sergeant Andy Smith, of the Community Investigation Unit at Dunfermline, who was in charge of the operation, said: “Police Scotland is fully committed to keeping people safe and taking a tough stance on violence is a key part of that. “My staff worked on a number of investigations during the day of action, resulting in five people being arrested for violent crimes, another four arrested on outstanding warrants and two further arrests relating to persons carrying a knife.
“Violent crime in west Fife is relatively low compared to other areas of the country but it is important to note that violence of any kind has a lasting impact on victims and it cannot and will not be tolerated.
“In addition to the day of action, west Fife staff are educating people on the dangers of excessive drinking and how this can lead to violence. Further days of action will be undertaken in the coming months, as the festive season approaches.
“Officers will continue to be highly visible in our communities. to prevent violence and disorder.”
