A galaxy of comedy stars have joined forces for a show to help MND campaigner Gordon Aikman raise money for research into the disease.
Last year’s show raised around £25,000 for vital research into MND.
Gordon is hoping this year’s event will get his campaign ever closer to the £500,000 fundraising target.
Scottish comedy legend Fred MacAulay will perform alongside a series of the festival’s hottest tickets including a very special TV comedy star guest, to be revealed on the night.
“I’m delighted that so many amazing comedians are coming together to help fund a cure for MND.
“Last year’s show raised a bucket load of cash for MND research and I’m confident we can raise even more this year,” said Gordon.
Comedian Fred said: “The show’s going to be a great laugh for a great cause.”
Iain McWhirter, head of fundraising and volunteering at MND Scotland, said: “MND kills. Tragically, we still don’t know why people get it, how to prevent it or cure it.
“Through research we can understand the disease better and then defeat it once and for all.
“Research is expensive so without fundraisers like this we wouldn’t be able to make nearly as much progress in tackling MND.”
Stand Up Against MND will be held at 7.30pm on Monday March 14 in the King’s Theatre in Glasgow as part of the city’s International Comedy Festival.
Tickets are £21 and available at www.glasgowcomedyfestival.com.
