Race legend in bike trial after being stopped at Knockhill Racing Circuit

Motorcycle racing legend Alan Duffus has gone on trial over driving offences at Knockhill Racing Circuit.
Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard the 68-year-old, now a motorcycle dealer, had been stopped by two police motorcyclists at the venue.
They claimed they saw Duffus riding a bike with no helmet, recognised him and were aware he was disqualified.
Duffus, of Main Street, Kinnesswood, denies that on June 29 last year on a road or other public place, namely Knockhill Racing Circuit, he used a motorcycle without insurance and drove while disqualified.
PC Alistair Purvis conceded when questioned there were a lot of people on bikes in that area without helmets and he had taken no action against them.
The trial was adjourned to August 25.
