Lib Dem leader Willie Rennie’s Amazon visit called off at last minute

Willie Rennie will be locked out of Amazon after the internet giant cancelled a meeting between the Scottish Liberal Democrat leader and Fife staff.
Mr Rennie was due to meet workers at the company’s Dunfermline fulfilment centre today but the plans were cancelled at the last minute.
The Courier understands Lesley Smith, Amazon’s director for public policy for the UK and Ireland, arranged the visit to discuss working conditions after protected negotiations.

The move has left Mr Rennie fuming and, at an election pitch from the pavement outside the giant storage facility today, he will pledge to stop Scottish Government hand-outs to companies not paying their staff at least the living wage.
