Students at St Andrews University got into a lather today at the Raisin Monday foam fight.
The traditional event, an annual favourite with both students and Gillette shareholders, saw hundreds of people descend on the Lower College Lawn for the sensational spectacle.
In a scene more reminiscent of a winter’s day, the green grass quickly became a carpet of white as hundreds of litres of shaving foam was hurled around by the young academics.

Following complaints from townsfolk in recent years, a heavy police presence was in St Andrews to ensure the youthful hijinks did not get out of hand.
That followed a high-profile plea from the university, which wrote to students individually calling on them to respect the local community and their fellow students.
However, Police Scotland told The Courier that the festivities appeared to have passed without incident.
