Tommy’s Honour filming brings screen stars to St Andrews
ByCraig Smith
Visitors to St Andrews Cathedral this week may have been lucky enough to catch a glimpse of an eagerly-awaited Hollywood movie being filmed.
Work is continuing on Tommy’s Honour, which tells the story of golfing pioneer Tom Morris and his son Tommy, who managed to match his father’s amazing achievements in the sport with four Open victories.
Of course, Old Tom Morris started his golfing life in his hometown of St Andrews so it was only natural that the Fife town would play host to such an incredible tale.
Directed by Jason Connery, son of Sean, the film stars Peter Mullan (Sunshine on Leith), Jack Lowden (’71) and Ophelia Lovibond (Guardians of the Galaxy), and eagle-eyed visitors to St Andrews would have spotted some of the film’s main protagonists on location this week.
