Police in Fife are appealing for information following a report of concern for a woman near Levenmouth Swimming Pool.
A member of the public raised the alarm with the emergency service after witnessing an apparent altercation between an unknown man and the woman on Tuesday, January 5 at around 11.30pm.
The pair had been seen on the Promenade in Leven standing on a section of pavement between the swimming pool and a roundabout at Riverside Road.
Officers are keen to make contact with both individuals and have appealed for the assistance of the public.
The man is described as in his late 40s to early 50s, approximately 5ft 9ins tall with scruffy grey hair and facial stubble.
The woman is in her early to mid 30s, around 5ft 5ins tall, slim build, shoulder length straight dark hair and had been wearing dark clothing and carrying a dark handbag.
Anyone with relevant information on this incident or with knowledge of who these individuals are is asked to come forward immediately.
Community Investigation Sergeant Neil Johnston, who is based at Levenmouth Police Station, said: “Various inquiries are being carried out to establish the full set of circumstances surrounding this incident to ensure all parties are safe and well.
“Anyone who may have seen these individuals or who recognises their descriptions is asked to contact police on 101 or alternatively the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
