A tracksuit-clad Dunfermline teenager assaulted a nightclub doorman following an argument over umbrella etiquette.
Darren Taylor, 18, was detained for 16 months at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for a string of offences and breaches of community payback orders.
Taylor, of St Andrews Street, admitted that on November 28 at Life nightclub, Kirkgate, Dunfermline, he assaulted Peter Stephen in the course of his employment by punching him on the head and pulling his jacket over his head, to his injury.
He also admitted that on August 29 on Bruce Street, Dunfermline, while acting with another, he assaulted Andrew Horn, seized hold of his clothing, ripped it and repeatedly punched him on the body.
Taylor further admitted that on October 16 at an address in Baldridgeburn he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards his girlfriend.
Depute fiscal Louise Ward said the incident on Bruce Street started over an “issue about umbrellas” and resulted in a fight.
Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said this incident happened after his client went under an umbrella being carried by a female he knew, apparently causing offence to the male she was with.
The assault at Life occurred after Taylor had been refused entry because he was wearing a tracksuit and appeared to be drunk.
He also breached two community payback orders, one imposed for a racist incident involving threats at a takeaway and the other for an assault.
Sheriff Charles MacNair imposed 16 months detention and deferred sentence on the domestic incident until July.
