Dead interesting: Gravestones conference returns to Fife

Fifers are being invited to step into the past and study historic gravestones from across the region.

The sixth Fife Gravestones Conference will take place in Kirkcaldy in November.

The event will bring together half a dozen experts and provide an insight into Scottish history and the traditions and rituals surrounding gravestones and cemeteries in Fife.

The event has taken place every few years since 2004 and is organised by Kirkcaldy Civic Society and Fife Family History Society, who are keen to highlight the significance of local cemeteries.

This years event will take place at the Auld Kirk, Kirk Wynd, on Saturday November 14 from 10am-4pm.
