A man was called a “gypsy” before he was then assaulted outside a Dunfermline nightclub.
Dean Maguire-Miller, 23, of Marshall Place, Milnathort, admitted on February 7 last year in Pilmuir Street, he punched Lee Blackburn on the head to his injury.
Mr Blackburn was using his phone outside Johnson’s club when the accused described him as a gypsy and threatened him.
The victim had told Maguire-Miller he didn’t want to fight and started to walk away before the attack.
Solicitor Elaine Buist said her client had little recollection of the incident, but Sheriff Chris Shead fined Maguire-Miller £400 and ordered him to pay £250 compensation.
