Flooded St Andrews to Guardbridge road likely to be closed until weekend

A severely flooded Fife road is expected to remain closed until at least the weekend.
The A91 between St Andrews and Guardbridge was shut on Wednesday morning when it became impassable.
Fife Council staff have been pumping away the water for several hours, but with more heavy rain forecast the route is likely to remain closed for a few more days.
Traffic is being diverted by the B939 Strathkinness road.
Council lead professional Sara Wilson said: “We are doing everything we can to resolve the flooding issue.
“Since early this morning our staff have been on-site pumping out the water from the flooded area.
“We will carry on pumping but due to the additional rain forecast for the next few days it is unlikely the road will be open before the weekend.
“There is a signed diversion in place via the B939 and school buses will be running on alternative routes.
