Staff at the Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy have been celebrating after VisitScotland decided to raise the venue’s official rating.
Previously a three-star venue, a recent visit from a VisitScotland quality assurance adviser has led to the awarding of a new fourth star.
The four star rating now means that Fife Cultural Trust’s flagship arts and theatre venue boasts “an excellent standard” of cleanliness, safety, security, comfort, sustainability and customer care.
Adam Smith Theatre manager Mark Wheelwright is pleased with the accolade.
“I’m delighted that all of the hard work of the team has been recognised,” he said,
“Adam Smith Theatre is an important part of the local community, providing dance, drama, music, children’s theatre, cinema and a well-loved panto, as well as a space for local arts, clubs and societies.”
Anne Sandilands, from VisitScotland, said: “I very much enjoyed my time on site and it was great to see all the improvements made since our last grading visit.”
