The woman was taken to the Victoria Hospital after the accident in Ralston Drive this morning. The incident happened at 8.36am as pupils made their way to nearby Capshard Primary School and Kirkcaldy High School. Police said a silver Mazda being driven by a 69-year-old man was involved in the collision. The emergency services were in attendance within minutes after a resident who witnessed the accident dialled 999. A Police Scotland spokesman told The Courier the lollipop lady was taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries. She remained conscious throughout. Police said they are investigating the incident. The aftermath of the incident was witnessed by pupils on their way to nearby Kirkcaldy High School. One girl tweeted: ”The lollipop woman up the estate at the shop has been knocked down and she’s lying on the ground with an ambulance and everything.” A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said the lollipop woman was “not in a serious condition”.
