Police officers in Fife have seized drugs worth £400 and arrested three people as a direct response to concerns raised at a community engagement meeting in Kirkcaldy.
During the meeting in the Links area of the town, residents made their community police officer Grant Stevenson aware of a house which they suspected was being used for drug misuse.
Working with residents, Mr Stevenson put an operation in place using additional resources from Police Scotland.
This culminated in the identified house being searched on Thursday and the arrests and drugs seizure.
Community Sergeant Paul Thomson said: “This is a great example of how local policing is being used to address local issues.
“It demonstrates that the local community will not tolerate drug misuse and is prepared to take action.
“This operation does not end with this result, and along with our partners we will be looking at what further measures can be taken in relation to this property.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or supply information through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The next community engagement meeting for Links area will be held at 6.30pm on Tuesday March 4 at the Philp Hall, Links Street, Kirkcaldy.
