A man who attempted to rob a Dunfermline bookmakers pretending he was armed with a weapon, has appeared in court.
John O’Donnell repeatedly told a worker at Ladbrokes branch to empty the till, Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard.
O’Donnell, 31, currently a patient at the State Hospital, Carstairs, admitted that on July 8 at Ladbrokes, Aberdour Road, Dunfermline, he attempted to rob Deborah Kellichan or Thow in the course of her employment, held his hand in his jacket pocket implying he had a weapon and attempted to rob her of a sum of money.
Solicitor Stephen Morrison said medical reports on his client found he “suffered from persistent delusional disorder but was sane and fit to plead”.
