RAF Leuchars’ history explored at St Andrews exhibition

You’ve seen the air shows, you’ve heard the aircraft now people are being given the chance to come and discover more about the century-long history of RAF Leuchars.
A diverse collection of objects, photographs and service memorabilia are being put on display at St Andrews University to celebrate life on the base.
The exhibition will commemorate a history of proud service by the RAF to the local area and nation.
It will present an inside view of life behind the wire that will appeal to audiences of all ages.
The exhibition has been curated by postgraduate students from the museum and gallery studies course at St Andrews University, who have been working closely with the heritage team at RAF Leuchars.
The free exhibition will run from March 14 to May 17.
The Gateway Galleries provides free parking and is located on the North Haugh (KY16 9RJ).
The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3.45pm and noon to 4pm on Saturdays.
