Kirkcaldy shop owner feared for his life as robbers pointed gun at his head
ByThe Courier Reporter
A Kirkcaldy store owner was left fearing for his life as he stared down the barrel of a gun during a horrifying armed robbery.
Terrified dad-of-three Fazal Sindhu’s thoughts were for his family as two hooded robbers raided his Kirkcaldy store as he worked alone.
The shop boss had the imitation pistol repeatedly shoved in his face while the thieves ransacked the till of the Birnam Road store.
Mr Sindhu said: “I was filling up the fridge as I do normally every day when I heard the noise of the door opening.
“Straight away they took a gun out and pointed it at my head. He said if you press any panic buttons I will shoot you. It must have lasted 5 minutes and the gun was pointed at my head all the time.”
Gunman Sonny Gibson (26) and his accomplice Jay Johnstone (21) pled guilty to assault and robbery at the High Court in Edinburgh earlier this month.
