A 29-year-old man has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman while she slept at a Fife holiday park.
Fraser McKean stands trial at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court charged with carrying out the attack at Leven Beach Holiday Park last year.
McKean was accused of removing the woman’s clothing while she was asleep and powerless to defend herself.
At Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Tuesday, Sheriff James Williamson heard McKean, of Bruce House, Allanfauld Road, Cumbernauld, pleaded not guilty to the alleged incident.
McKean denied that at Leven Beach Holiday Park, Promenade, Leven, on September 8 2012 he removed the woman’s lower clothing and then sexually assaulted her while she was asleep and incapable of giving or withdrawing consent.
Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia asked for the court to be closed due to the distressing nature of the woman’s evidence.
The case, which is expected to last three days, continues at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
