Police find body of missing Cupar man Gordon Johnstone

The body of missing Cupar man Gordon Johnstone has been found in woodland between Cupar and Ceres, police have confirmed.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
Sniffer dog teams and the Police Scotland helicopter had been searching for the 54-year-old some miles away in the Tentsmuir Forest area after mobile phone records suggested he might be in the north Fife or Carnoustie/Dundee areas.
Mr Johnstone was last seen around 9am on Saturday in Lunardi Place, which is close to Tesco in Cupar. He was reported missing by his family.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland, Fife Division, can confirm that a body, believed to be that of missing man Gordon Johnstone, has been found in woodland near Cupar.
“Police can confirm there appear to be no suspicious circumstances. Formal identification is yet to take place.
“Media and public are thanked for their assistance.”
