The funeral of Turnbull Hutton will take place in Kirkcaldy this afternoon, with figures from the world of football and business expected to pay tribute to the former Raith Rovers chairman.
The service will begin at Kirkcaldy Crematorium at 12.45pm. Prior to the funeral the cortege will travel from Edinburgh, entering Kirkcaldy at Invertiel before pausing in front of the main stand at Stark’s Park a few minutes after noon.
Any fans wishing to pay their respects at the ground have been invited by the club to gather on the ramp leading to the south stand.
Mr Hutton’s family have also intimated that the public are welcome at the crematorium, with the service due to be broadcast on loudspeakers to anyone not accommodated inside the building.
A Raith spokesman said: “Turnbull’s family would like to express their sincere thanks for all the messages of condolence they have received, and have read on social media, from Raith Rovers supporters and indeed the wider Scottish football family.”
Mr Hutton, who was an irrepressible figure on the Raith board for 15 years, died on April 5 following a short battle with leukaemia.
A Harvard graduate and widely respected business figure, he served as managing director of Scottish operations for drinks giants Diageo.
