A row with her neighbour over dog poo ended with a Fife pensioner suffering a broken wrist.
Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard that bad feeling between the neighbours flared up and a 76-year-old woman was injured.
Kirsty Miller, 31, of Orebank Road, Cardenden, admitted that on June 14 in that street she conducted herself in a culpable or reckless manner and threw water which struck Catherine Brand, 76, causing her to fall.
Depute fiscal Louise Ward said the accused and complainer lived in cottages next to each other and their back gardens were not separated by a fence at the time.
“On the day in question there seems to have been a heated discussion between the accused and complainer regarding dog excrement,” said Ms Ward.
Following this, Miller had filled a basin of soapy water and threw it.
“The complainer was standing nearby and the water hit her, causing her to fall to the ground.”
The elderly neighbour suffered a fractured wrist and was taken to Victoria Hospital.
Defence solicitor Selina Mackay said there had been bad feeling between the neighbours for some time and her client had been the victim of “nuisance behaviour” such as having her washing line cut and the clothes left lying on the ground.
Ms Mackay said the neighbour had gathered the dog excrement and put it on her client’s garden table.
Miller had gone and filled the basin to clean the table. She threw the water over the table and it “splashed up on to the complainer, she stumbled and fell”.
Ms Mackay added: “She very much regrets her behaviour.”
Sheriff Craig McSherry ordered Miller to pay compensation of £750.
