An animal sanctuary volunteer who was caught with bestial images has been warned he could face jail. Hundreds of images and videos were found on devices at Mark Findlater’s Forfar home in November 2013. Forfar Sheriff Court heard the images depicted extreme acts between adults and dogs, cows, pigs and horses. A criminal justice report was prepared for sentencing on Thursday. However Findlater’s solicitor asked Sheriff Gregor Murray to wait for a psychological assessment before passing sentence. The 28-year-old first offender previously admitted possessing the material over more than two-and-a-half years. Sheriff Murray told Findlater: “There are two options open to me. One is custodial sentence and the other is a very detailed community-based disposal. “I make it very clear to you that you run the risk of a substantial period of custody. “You will need to comply very closely with the completion of the assessment.” Bail was continued and sentence deferred to March 24.
