Fife’s flagship leisure centre is proving a hit with the public and is about to hit a major milestone.
The Michael Woods Centre in Glenrothes is on the verge of welcoming its 125,000th visitor just over two months after opening its doors. The £21.5 million centre, a replacement for the old Fife Institute, appears to have been money well spent.
Scott Urquhart, area leisure manager for operators the Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “Since we opened in July, there has been a consistently high level of attendance both during the week and at weekends.
“The whole team is delighted at the response from the local community and it’s fantastic to see so many people enjoying the new centre.”
