Waterworks to close main road through Auchtermuchty
ByCheryl Peebles
Motorists who use the A91 between Melville Lodges roundabout and Strathmiglo face a lengthy diversion.
Over the next three weeks part of the road through Auchtermuchty will be closed as water mains are upgraded. Traffic will be diverted via the A92 and A12.
Mains have already been replaced in Station Road and Cupar Road and work will begin between Burnside and Back Dykes on Monday.
Scottish Water’s regional community manager for Fife, Anne-Marie Dewar, said: “This is essential work to improve services in the area, replacing old water mains pipes with new plastic pipes to provide clearer, fresher drinking water for customers, while reducing the chance of pipes bursting.”
The work will be carried out seven days a week.
