Fife photographer captures the northern lights

Last night’s celestial lights show has been captured in a series of stunning shots by a keen Fife photographer.

Corinne Mills witnessed the aurora borealis, or northern lights, from near Kilmany in North Fife.

The phenomenon is caused when electrically charged particles from the sun collide when entering the earth’s atmosphere.

Lancaster University runs an AurorawatchUK service to alert users to when they might witness the spectacular show.
